Maybe you can find a way (if you have a mac) with “mail” but thats if you have premium accounts.

Do I just buy a domain from Godaddy and use their service for the email? Will I have to pay monthly charges for the email? I just want to use a free email service if possible, but I am not sure how that works.

I use Pair Networks (pairnic.com) as my registrar, and one of the free services that comes with registration is e-mail forwarding. Simply forward mail to your domain to your “real” e-mail address. They also offer a webmail interface, but I don’t know if there is a charge for that, or what it costs, though it looks like webmail is included as well.

Check with your registrar if they include mail hosting (POP and/or IMAP) or mail forwarding as part of their registration.

Yep. I’m having the same issue – with the “original” old version – the one that’s current – AND – the new “beta”… All Yahoo mail is down, it appears, all over the country. Saw one post that said someone in FLA could access, and someone in NYC and in NJ could not… I’m in WA, and have been trying to get on since 8 PST. It’s now 11:13 PST.
Check www.downrightnow.com for the status of web applications. It’ll help you know if it’s just you or if the problem is widespread.
Most people who are replying to these seem to believe it’s due to Yahoo updating their Email service, and that it will take 2 – 3 hours before it’s up again – however, I’ve also seen someone post that this has been going on since last night – soooo… Who knows.
It may even be that some servers got knocked out due to the bad storks – since someone in FLA can access, but someone in NJ, NY, and myself in WA cant.
Just be patient – this isn’t the first time this has happened, and it won’t be the last – but it doesn’t happen often.

When buying your own domain name, i would suggest you to never use freewebs as the host for it.

Download wamp server, host it on your computer. You can learn html very easily.

The php part with mysql might be hard, but, it will make you able to have alot more stuff then freewebs, such as login/register. That is very important for users.

National health care is also a financial insurance policy. Without it we are in danger of loosing our life savings and /or loosing the equity in our house if you are a democrat or loosing the equity in your trailer if you are a republican.

Also, Why do republicans insist on the uninsured continuing to use our emergency rooms for free health care then stiffing the taxpayer with the bill? When will republicans learn that there is no such thing as a free lunch?

Also2, Let me tell you all of a hard reality. Our present health care system has some serious flaws. For instance, when you hear of a senior that committed suicide due to poor health, they more than likely did it due to lack of insurance.

Seniors in that boat could wipe out their savings to live a few years longer, but doing that would leave their spouse financially destitute. So they’re left with three choices. They can either sit back and let nature take her agonizing course, or make their spouse financially destitute, or they can put a gun to their head. Such a scenario happens everyday.

Nope doesn’t work that way, in all likelyhood you probably just got ripped off. Think of it in terms of this analogy, the internet is the planet earth (made up of servers), when you purchase space on a host your buying land, the cost of registering the domain name (your address) is usually included when you buy your land. Why would you pay for an address without owning the land the address refers to?

Thankfully most hosts will ask you if you’ve already own a domain name when buying space on their host and can point any http requests at your ‘land’. But to answer your question no hosting is not free, you can get space free but they’ll make up for it by plastering your site with shitty ads.

There are cards that you can buy. You put X number of dollars on the card and that’s what it’s good for, kind of a pay as you go. I’m surprised that nobody will take a debit card.

I say change it so that you have to be level 2 to answer questions. At least that way, it would be more complicated to continuously create new names and throw the answers out there to get people to their site. Have a policy to cancel the identity of any know scam, if that is not already the case.
