Security error: Domain name mismatch – SSL server certificate issue?
Jul 15th
Question by X cubefarmer: Security error: Domain name mismatch – SSL server certificate issue? I am getting this popup message when logging into Yahoo Mail. The contents of the message say, “You have attempted to establish a connection with rmd.atdmt.com. However the security certificate presented belongs to a248.e.akamai.net.”
The certificate viewer shows that it’s a SSL Server Certificate and is issued to Akamai Technologies by GTE CyberTrust (which means nothing to me).
I recently cleared all the cookies from my browser and then this started soon after. Coincedence or not?
Anybody know if this is a legitimate security certificate, is it More >
how to enable PHP error reporting on a godaddy virtual dedicated server?
Jul 14th
Question by plasticy: how to enable PHP error reporting on a godaddy virtual dedicated server? Hi – I found out that Plesk turns off php error reporting by default and that to turn in on I have to modify “/etc/php.ini” . I downloaded ‘putty’ and SSH-ed as ‘su’ but permissions are denied when I type /etc/php.ini. I called godaddy and was told that they are having no problem doing it on their end and just to make sure that I login as root (which I think “su” is, correct?) – Of course, since virtual dedicated server come with no support, I More >

Answer by MICHAEL NIf you receive an error message regarding an “unknown authority” or “outdated certificate” when you are attempting to reach a secure web page, you may be using a browser with an out-of-date certificate or the correct certificate may not have been installed. This is usually a problem that occurs with older browsers.
hope this helps.

Gmail Security certificate error?
Jul 3rd
Question by amethyst_gemini74: Gmail Security certificate error? I keep getting this error when I try to access Gmail:
www.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it is self signed. The certificate is only valid for google.com (Error code: sec_error_ca_cert_invalid)
I never got it until last week. No viruses on computer, spyware has also been cleaned. Am I possibly accessing an impersonator site??
Best answer:
Answer by Bobz Cooperationactually no…there are some changes that mail.google.com is changing to itself that your internet browser (i.e. Firefox) may think is suspicious. Thus, it’s ok…just like allow it. From trusted sites, it’s ok

Question by Damien: How could you turn off Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain for some Selfsigned certificates?
Best answer:
Answer by Shaneyou can do it by bypassing the warning
You can tell Firefox to bypass these warnings. You should only bypass the warning if you’re sure that the site is legitimate. Legitimate public sites will not ask you to do this. An invalid certificate can be an indication of a web page that will defraud you or steal your identity.
1. On the warning page, click Or you can add an exception…. 2. Click Add Exception…. The Add Security Exception dialog will appear. 3. Click More >
Page load error when signing in?
Jun 29th
Question by My Answers Suck: Page load error when signing in? I tried to sign into eBay but got this message:
———————————————————————————————– Secure Connection Failed
signin.ebay.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate will not be valid until 1/7/2009 6:00 PM.
(Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate)
* This could be a problem with the server’s configuration, or it could be someone trying to impersonate the server.
* If you have connected to this server successfully in the past, the error may be temporary, and you can try again later.
Or you can add an exception…
