Q&A: Which free email system is most effective in blocking spam and unwanted mail?
Question by Esrum1: Which free email system is most effective in blocking spam and unwanted mail?
I’ve been loyal to my yahoo.com email account for years. The barrage of spam and unwanted mail however is getting out of hand.
The hard part is that sometimes updates and emails from companies I’ve asked to send me messages get marked as spam, and junk that I definitely don’t want coming through (such as emails offering to wire me 10 million U.S. dollars from some dead oil tycoon) do come through.
If I don’t check my emails daily, I’ll end up with close to 40 spam messages in my yahoo.com account. What’s the best free email system out there for eliminating junk email?

I left lycos because of spam… Yahoo has a pretty decent system for once you get hit, and you build a list to block…
Hot mail’s system is pretty good as well from what I heard.
But, most people seem to prefer Gmail. I don’t have specifics on it, but I know a lot of people who use it and are very happy with it.
