Q&A: What percentage of Internet domains are owned by who?
Question by Six-Stringed Soldier: What percentage of Internet domains are owned by who?
I’m interested in knowing what percentage of the internet is essentially “controlled” by different regions. Mainly North America and Asia. Please cite sources. The proof is in the pudding as they say.
Thanks!

Your question can not be answered satisfactorily. To my knowledge no databases have categorized the available national references of the top TLD’s domain whois information.
The reason for this is that top TLDs can be registered by any nationality and most registrars offer privacy options that obscure the national ownership references.
If you are looking for details on whois information and historical data etc. Domaintools.com offer the most comprehensive database available, but no statistical data on nationalities available there either.
What do you think? Answer below!
