If they really wanted the domain and you don’t own it anymore they wouldn’t offer to buy it. They’d just register it themselves. Unless somebody else has already registered it after you let it go, but then they should deal with that person, not you. Sounds very much like some kind of scam or attempt to get your information. Personally, I’d ignore it but you can re-register it if you wish and see what happens.
