Question by teh_masta_of_all: JustHost Domain Name?
Just wondering if I signup for justhost.com hosting I get a free domain, but if I ever want to transfer it to another host I need to pay for it, their fee is 15$ . This is not a problem but I’m wondering since I have to pay for the domain if I want to “own” it and be able to take it to another host does that mean they register their info with WHOIS? I don’t want to get domain privacy for an extra ten bucks if justhost is going to be registering using their information anyways, as far as their concerned I dont “own” it anyways right as it says they will register the domain? Any ideas? Just dont want my info all over the net
but dont want to pay for something I’m getting anyways lol.

I also use Just Host and I am not quite sure where you are getting the fee of 15$ to transfer a domain name as I looked into that and I was stated there was none. However it all depends on if the domain was originally transferred from another host or it was created using Justhost.com. Mine was transferred from another host so there for I was stated transferring in and out was free. I just recently went from Justhost.com to GoDaddy.com and I was charged nothing to do this.
As far as WHOIS, every host that I know of puts your information into the WHOIS directory. Even if you pay extra to become private your still in the WHOIS directory BUT your information is private. As soon as you stop paying the extra bucks it becomes public.

You can register a domain with other registrar companies and set the dns to justhost for hosting. That way you always have control over it. For that you pay between 3 and 15 US$ a year.
By the way, justhost uses enom.com to register domains.

You will need a credit card or paypal account when you register your domain. You can always delete your billing information. I recommend using a paypal account as its much easier.
