I’d like to set up my own website, and I know there are a lot of options out there. Where is the best place to register my ‘dotcom’ name? I’d like for them to have decent hosting options, something not TOO pricey. I’m good with web design, so I don’t need anything with one of those ‘easybuilder’ options. Somewhere I can upload various HTML pages and other various files.

I don’t have a recommendation for hosting (I do my own) but I’ve dealt with enough customers’ messes to say, never buy your domain name at the same time as your web hosting. If the domain is part of the hosting package the name could be held hostage if you stop paying your hosting bill, leaving you unable to move the domain name to a new host.
