Answer by RobIn your email client, go into your Outgoing Mail settings, and uncheck the “Server Requires Secured Connection” or SSL Box.
In other words – the server doesn’t allow for encrypted connections.

I opened a gmail account, and I’m importing email from my comcast email accounts (leaving a copy of the mail on the original server), but when I add the comcast account and check the SSL option, gmail can’t connect to the comcast server. Is this a big deal? Do I need SSL? Can someone intercept the packets (if anyone cared to) with somekind of sniffer or rouge router? Thanks!
