Question by orbit: Where to find someone to build a website?
I tried learning html, and while I have the basics down, I dont really know how to create a somewhat personal, but professional website. I wanted a very basic one with a couple pages, but where do you look if you want to hire someone for cheap to build a very simple site?

Look online, craigslist, etc.
Just search google.
I build flash sites, not HTML.

Go pay a bum. Most homeless people have a pretty good understanding of the concepts of web design.

I do some web design on the side: http://www.andrijwebdesign.com check it out – if you are interested – just let me know either through the site, or leave a msg in addtional details – i always check back.
Most web designers charge either a large lump fee, or up to $50 an hour for work done.
I charge about a quarter of that $12.00 an hour – itemized expenses, and if you do not like the final product, I will continually remake it until you are pleased, at no extra cost. No, I am not a bot/spammer, but I guess you can’t believe that until we talk more haha.
Btw – was looking at these other web sites. Please don’t believe anyone who has that they sell SEO (search engine optimization) on their site. It is dishonest. Companies charge money to do something that is inherent in the design of the site. Don’t pay places twice. SEO has a nice little foothold compared to other web-services, there are no REAL measurable results, there is no definition of what it is, and almost no one understands it. How brilliant is that? large and small companies are charging thousands and thousands of dollars (a MONTH) for an invisible service! Which reminds me a little too much of a certain emperor with new clothes.
I build a good site, I will work with you personally, because its not a company – I am a poor Villanova Engineering student with a hobby of web design on the side, and the experience to prove I can do the job. Send me an email when you get a chance. andrij.harasewych@villanova.edu
by the way – a simple page like the one you want really shouldnt be much more than like 40-50 bucks, haha. Let me know.
and to the guy offering to do it for free….come on – us freelancers rely on this for textbooks for school…hahaha
