Question by Jeanine: If a guy has a photo album of pictures of his ex do you dump him?
I found out that my boyfriend has a photo album of pictures of his ex girlfriends. Photography is one of his hobbies and when I asked him about it that was his defense but I still don’t understand why he still has the pictures out on his night stand with pictures of mostly her in it. I’m getting a bad feeling that he can’t get over her. Am I right or being paranoid?

Having an album is one thing. Having it on the nightstand is another. Leave while you can, and find someone who wants pictures of you on night stand.

I would not like this at all. If he kept those pix in a filing cabinet as a photography sample, that would be one thing, but on his night stand? You know what he’s doing with it. I would tell him that when he gets over her maybe then he can call you up but until then, forget it.

No you don’t.. He had a life before you and by the sounds you …he most certainly will have a life after you as well. You do not ask someone to throw their past away which has nothing to do with you.

No you shouldn’t.
She was a large part of his life, you can’t expect him to erase it.
Ask him politely to move it so you don’t feel the need to compete for his love.

Hmmm…that’s a hard one… I totally am head over heals in love with my husband but I still have photos of my ex husband… I do not in anyway still have feelings for my ex – but I keep the pictures because that was also my life and I hate getting rid of pictures. He probably doesn’t want to throw away memories of times in his life…it’s probably not about his ex… Now if he gets them out and looks at them all the time that would be kind of weird…but if they are just stuffed back somewhere – not an issue

There’s a difference between having them out on his nightstand and an album. Album is ok. Out on the nightstand, no. Tell him calmly how you feel and say it bothers you. If he says ok I’ll get rid of them then that’s cool.

someones past belongs to them, you have to respect that all the people who have been in hs life has made him the person he is today and thats why you like him

You have a reason why you are concerned… What if you had a picture beside your bed and everywhere you looked, he would think that you still have feelings for him… so yes he probably still has feelings for her, if you like this guy and yall are dating, tell him how you feel and if he still refuses to take down the pics, he’s not right for you….

He shouldn’t keep them out on display. I see no reason why he can’t keep them but he needs to put them in a box under the bed or in the garage. I would NOT be okay with my boyfriend having pictures up of his ex wife, but I know he has them stored away. They are memories, but not yours so they shouldn’t be up on display for you. You aren’t being paranoid. He may be over her he may not either way, keeping up her momentos is no beuno

Its normal. They were an important part of your life at one time, so why not hold onto mementos?

probably no big deal…I have old love letters stored in a shoe box from old boyfriends and I dont even think about them actually, I dont even know why I still have them, lol…on the other hand I dont have them openly displayed on my nightstand either. Tell him it would make you more comfortable if he at least put it IN the nightstand drawer (out of sight) but dont demand he throw it out

There may be more than one compartment in any persons heart of love. One may be strong and large for whom he loves much, bust small compartment may be for tiny fellow. So do not worry.

If it was just an album, I’d say leave him his memories, no harm in them.
However, pictures on the night stand is a neon sign that he has a serious problem.
He’s definitely not over her and he has little respect for you and your feelings if he thinks it’s ok to leave them out when you’re over.
Run don’t walk to the nearest exit. Tell him he can call when he’s really over his EX.

Its just a chapter in your life. I keep few of pics of old flames but the fire is long Sense been out. Its just memories. maybe to remind you not to do that again.

Photographs of important people in anyone’s life, especially from the past, are to be treasured forever…. but, maybe not out on the night stand, though. I’d say, if you have been dating for more than,say, a year, then photos of you would be more appropriate.

You are right! Question him again about it. Trust me I went through the exact same thing with my ex-boyfriend. When I met him he was sweet and we started a relationship and went out and such but when I went to his house he had a picture of me right beside a picture of his ex which then a bell went off in my head and I questioned his love for me. After a few months went by I realized that he had more pics of her which really upset me and told him that it hurt me and that he should have these pics hidden in a box somewhere or throw them out because he is not with his ex anymore, it really disturbed me but of course I was naive at the time and believed he loved me. To make a long story short the his ex girlfriend moved to the same city he was living in, she moved in with him (which he didn’t care about because he had feelings for her), didn’t tell me about it because I found out on my own. When I moved to another country he slept with his ex, she got pregnant and that is the end of the story that is why he is my ex. So my advice to you is question him, its either you or the photos of his ex so he better make a wise decision. Good luck and follow your gut instinct:)

Ok my girlfriend had picture of her ex and i said look i think its werid to have them and because you guys use to share something special and looking at those picture are going to bring memiores of how much fun you guys had ,sex and so on so i said to her i want all those pictures of that dushbag and the next day we both went threw them and i said to her if you really want these picture you tell me now and she said no its fine take them so i did and i destoryed them . But i think if your boyfriend likes you or loves you ask him again i want these pciture i think its wrong to have them and if he says no than tell him what you think if i had a whole photo album of my ex’s and if says he doesnt care than his a lieing . I still have pictures of me ex. When I first got together with my current man of over 3 years so far. He found them he went off the deep end. I was like OMG what the hell is the big deal??? I was kinda pissed off at his jealousy!! Then I tried to understand. I spent over 4 years with my ex those pictures where a part of my life I didn’t see the harm in them, but to not make my current man unhappy I told him I got rid of them. Which I did (I just moved them to my moms) BUT STILL I wanted him to know I did care about him & I never meant any harm by still having the photos. Yet I don’t see the point in throwing them away either. Maybe I am wrong. I mean its not like I go to my moms & look at them. It was a chapter in my life.

GET over it, they are ex’s, he enjoys photography, he has an album, BIG DEAL! You are injecting way too much DRAMA into this. Relax and enjoy the man you have and don;t try to create problems that may not exist. Reality is, he is with YOU, if he was running off to photograph old girl friends then I would say you have a problem, but as it stands, he isn’t doing this, RELAX and enjoy being in love.

As a photography hobbyist myself, its a good possibility he’s very proud of the way the pictures look. You have nothing to worry about. Instead of worrying about this, ask him to take some pictures of you. Then again, maybe you don’t want to do that since all the girls in that book are now his ex-girlfriends. I’m sure he doesn’t know how having it out on the nightstand bugs you, but would you have liked it more if the book was a secret? The very fact its out means he isn’t hiding anything from you. But if you’re the jealous type, just ask him to put it out of sight.
